Musical Theatre Tryouts
I had been singing on my own for years and years, but I never really received any formal training. Nonetheless, my friends all told me that I was good and I figured I would give it a try. I had played in a band and even did a little bit of Opera – at least on my own. I figured it couldn’t be that hard. I was pretty disappointed when I did not make that musical theatre tryout, though somewhat consoled by the fact that it wasn’t my singing voice so much as my acting ability that lost it for me. I knew that I wasn’t much of an actor, and when the director told me that I had to work on this skill, I thanked him for the advice.
